Pelikan M640 Indian Summer (2009) – The splendor of autumn colors in an elegant form
The Pelikan M640 Indian Summer was introduced in 2009 as part of the limited-edition "Beauties of Nature" series and artfully captures the warm, vibrant atmosphere of late autumn in North America. The design is inspired by the intense hues of changing leaves and the quiet elegance of falling maple leaves.
The name Indian Summer refers to a particularly mild, colorful late autumn period in North America, known for its warm light and vibrant foliage. This atmosphere is reflected in the design of the fountain pen – lively, autumnal, and full of natural elegance.
The slightly bulbous aluminum barrel displays a vibrant interplay of various orange and gold tones, interwoven with stylized silver-colored maple leaves. These are subtly matte and contrast elegantly with the softly shimmering background. The grip, butt plate, and cap are made of deep, dark brown precious resin, echoing the natural, earthy hues of the design. The clip and decorative rings are silver-colored, underscoring the modern, understated elegance of this model.
Inside, the tried-and-tested piston-filling mechanism is at work. The 18-karat gold nib is fully rhodium-plated and ensures a smooth, consistent writing experience. Thanks to its harmonious proportions and pleasant weight, the M640 sits comfortably in the hand, even during extended periods of note-taking.
The pen comes standard with a medium (M) nib. We offer a free nib exchange to your preferred nib width upon request. Please note that this service requires a few days for processing.
The M640 Indian Summer is an emotional writing instrument that combines warmth, change and a connection to nature in an elegant, high-quality fountain pen – an atmospheric collector's item for connoisseurs of fine writing culture.
