The Montblanc Patron of Art 4810 set “Peter & Catherine the Great” is among the most important collector's items in the collection and unites two artfully designed fountain pens dedicated to the eponymous 18th-century Russian rulers. Both writing instruments bear the identical limited edition number 0150 of only 4810 pieces worldwide – a matching number set and highly sought after by collectors.

Both models are equipped with finely engraved 18-karat gold nibs and feature a classic piston-filling mechanism. The Peter the Great is presented in a deep dark green with gilt fittings, while the Catherine the Great is crafted with aubergine-colored precious resin and rose-gilt elements – both in the spirit of their historical predecessors and adorned with characteristic ornaments such as the Russian double-headed eagle.

Although the set was always unused and carefully stored as a collector's item, the inner ink reservoirs of both fountain pens cracked over the years – a known problem with this model series. The Catherine the Great was therefore fully repaired at Montblanc on March 1, 2023, including replacement of the inner reservoir. Unfortunately, original Montblanc replacement parts were no longer available for the Peter the Great, so the repair was professionally carried out in-house.
