The Montblanc Heritage Collection 1912 fountain pen is a homage to the first Montblanc writing instruments with the white star logo from 1912. The barrel is made of metal and lacquered black, while the cap is crafted from precious resin. The elegant white cap top (encapsulated beneath a clear resin sphere) completes the design and alludes to the evolution from a simple white cap top to the Montblanc star.
Another special feature is the innovative two-stage rotating mechanism at the end of the barrel. This was developed to combine the design of a safety fountain pen with modern technology, allowing the nib to be extended and retracted, and then, when pulled further out, the piston filling process . The nib is made of 14k gold (585) , rhodium-plated, with a triangular center hole that provides additional nib flexibility and a smooth writing experience. The bouncy feel of the nib and the writing sensation ensure a truly enjoyable writing experience.
The writing instrument is relatively compact, measuring approximately 120 mm in length (cap screwed on) , 126 mm with the spring exposed , a diameter of around 13 mm , and weighing approximately 49 g with the cap and 37 g without the cap.
