David Oscarson – Trellis Collection
The Trellis Collection is the seventh edition in the David Oscarson series and comprises five color variations, each limited to 88 pieces. It follows the series' principle of combining traditional guilloché engraving with hand-applied hard enamel, and executes the theme of a delicate trellis with high precision.
The characteristic motif of tendrils, leaves, and buds is created in several engraving layers. First, the background is removed down to the base; then the guilloché pattern is engraved, while the trellises, leaves, and buds remain in full relief. The translucent enamel colors enhance the depth effect, accentuated by opalescent white. A fifth model reverses the concept, combining opalescent white with translucent black.
Each design is crafted from solid sterling silver and finished in either rhodium or yellow gold vermeil. The enamel is applied by hand in numerous layers, fired at high temperatures, and then polished flat with diamond files until it is flush with the relief structures.
The filling system allows the use of cartridges, converters, or eyedroppers. The 18-karat gold nib with ebonite feed is manufactured in Heidelberg.
