David Oscarson - Koi Collection
The Koi Collection is the 27th edition of David Oscarson's limited-edition writing instruments and was inspired by a trip to Tokyo in 2016. In Japan, koi symbolize love, friendship, perseverance, and good fortune. Their vibrant colors and serene movements in the water make them a powerful symbol of harmony and resilience.
The collection's design features three koi variations in finely detailed high and low relief, flanked by bamboo leaves and a water lily. Circles in high relief represent bubbles and petals. The guilloché pattern in the background depicts concentric water movements, spreading like waves in a tranquil pond. The bamboo motif is also found on the handle and clip.
The Japanese character 鯉 for Koi is embossed in high relief on the cap's top. David Oscarson's name is engraved in Japanese script on the cap's ring.
Crafted from solid sterling silver and finished with translucent hard enamel, each writing instrument boasts a deep, lustrous color achieved through repeated firing and precise grinding. Every piece combines traditional enamel craftsmanship with delicate engraving.
The Koi Collection is available in three main color variations:
Translucent Teal
Ruby Red
Sapphire Blue
Further smaller and particularly limited editions complete the series. Available as a fountain pen (F, M, B) or rollerball.
A writing instrument that masterfully captures the tranquility of a Japanese koi pond and the symbolic power of these extraordinary fish.
