David Oscarson – Deus Regit Collection
The Deus Regit Collection is the 37th edition of David Oscarson's limited-edition writing instruments and a tribute to the belief in a higher order. It celebrates the idea that God governs the universe and that light, life, and hope triumph over all opposition.
Each writing instrument is crafted from solid sterling silver and features a depiction of God descending through the clouds, surrounded by celestial beings, on the cap. His scepter bears a diamond as a symbol of his power and omniscience.
The shaft contrasts this imagery with the depiction of the antagonist as a snake with ruby-red eyes. Beneath the mossy black enamel, an engraved flame pattern represents the battle between light and darkness. The deep black enamel at the bottom symbolizes the complete absence of light.
The handle is divided into two sections, alluding to the otherworldly realms of waiting before the resurrection. The symbolism of the collection makes it clear that light triumphs over darkness and hope over despair.
This edition combines the finest guilloché engraving with artfully applied hard enamel, which is applied in multiple layers, fired, sanded, and polished. This process requires the utmost precision and years of experience.
The Deus Regit Collection is available as a fountain pen (F, M, B) or rollerball and comes in various color variations, each limited to 88 pieces .
A writing instrument of great symbolic depth, combining spiritual themes with masterful craftsmanship.
