David Oscarson – Carl Linnaeus Collection
The Carl Linnaeus Collection is the 19th edition from the studio of David Oscarson and pays tribute to one of the most important naturalists in history: Carl Linnaeus (1707–1778). The Swedish scientist, also known as the "father of modern taxonomy," created the foundation of biological classification with his binary system of naming, which remains valid to this day.
This exceptional collection combines artistic craftsmanship with a tribute to Linnaeus' lifelong love of nature. Floral ornaments, delicate engravings, and vibrant enamel colors symbolize the botanical world he explored and classified. Each writing instrument features intricate guilloché patterns, crafted in up to seven shades of genuine hard enamel.
The production process demands the utmost precision and patience: The enamel is applied by hand in multiple layers, fired at over 1,000 °F, and polished after each pass until a flawless, glassy surface is achieved. This traditional technique combines artisanal perfection with exceptional depth of color and brilliance.
Available in four versions:
-
Translucent Blue with multicolored flowers and leaves
-
Translucent Black with multicolored flowers and leaves
-
Translucent Red with multicolored flowers and leaves in gold vermeil
-

The Carl Linnaeus Collection represents the connection between science, art, and nature. It celebrates the spirit of discovery and the pursuit of order and beauty – in the form of a writing instrument that inspires as much as it impresses.
