David Oscarson – Black Water Snake Collection
The Black Water Snake Collection is the 20th edition in David Oscarson's series of limited-edition writing instruments and follows in the footsteps of the legendary Black Water Dragon Collection. Inspired by the Chinese Year of the Snake (2013), it embodies transformation, wisdom, and the subtle power of renewal.
In Chinese symbolism, the snake has represented rebirth and enlightenment for millennia. It is considered an emblem of beauty, intelligence, and spiritual depth – calm, precise, mysterious, and imbued with inner strength. The Black Water Snake unites these qualities in a design that blends movement, transformation, and balance.
Crafted from solid .925 sterling silver, each writing instrument features intricate, diamond-cut guilloché engravings, enhanced with translucent and opaque hard enamel. Every detail is enameled, fired, and polished by hand – a process that demands patience and the highest level of craftsmanship.
The ancient Chinese character for "snake" is inlaid in opaque black on the cap's top, while the traditional water symbol—a motif of flowing lines—adorns the cap and the end of the stem in high relief. The modern Chinese character for water appears as a fine enamel inlay at the bottom of the stem.
The Black Water Snake Collection is available in three color variations:
-
Translucent Gray and Opaque Black
-
Translucent Azure Blue and Opaque Black
-
Translucent Black and Opaque Black in Gold Vermeil
Each variant is limited to 88 pieces worldwide, available as a fountain pen (F, M, B) and rollerball.
A symbol of change, intuition and creative energy – the Black Water Snake combines myth, art and craftsmanship in perfect form.
