David Oscarson - Valhalla Collection
The Valhalla Collection is the ninth edition in the David Oscarson series and comprises three color variations, each limited to 88 pieces. It draws on Viking mythology and combines its rugged heritage with high-precision guilloché engraving and hard enamel.
Valhalla is considered the hall of the fallen, an otherworldly realm where fallen warriors continue to fight and rise again at the end of the day. The collection is inspired by this world and focuses on three central gods.
Odin, Allfather and god of poetry, is represented on the cap by a line from one of his poems inscribed in runes. Thor, the god of thunder, is symbolized by his hammer Mjölnir. Frey, god of fertility and peace, embodies growth and renewal.
The design comprises three engraved levels. Runestone, Viking ship, waves, and granite texture are created using a finely graduated relief technique. Complementary serpent motifs further develop the theme of Norse mythology. The combination of translucent and opaque enamel colors creates depth and brilliance that accentuate the solid silver body of the writing instruments.
Each model features the Oscarson filling system for cartridge, converter or eyedropper and an 18-karat Heidelberg nib with ebonite feed.
