David Oscarson – Saint Lucia
The Sankta Lucia is the 26th edition of David Oscarson's limited-edition writing instruments and pays tribute to one of the oldest Christian saints. Lucia, born in Syracuse in the third century and martyred around 304, was brought to Scandinavia by traveling traders, missionaries, and Vikings, where her story remains alive to this day.
The writing instrument impressively incorporates the central symbols of the saint. The barrel depicts Lucia's white robe and the red belt, which commemorates her martyrdom. The clip is designed as a Roman sword, and at the end of the barrel is the Roman numeral XIII, representing her feast day on December 13th.
On the cap, smoke and flames combine in a fine guilloché engraving with translucent enamel, reflecting both the attempted burning and the supernatural intervention. The handle features a wreath of cranberry branches with candles, and the cap's tip is crowned with a diamond-encrusted radiant crown, symbolizing light, hope, and spiritual guidance.
Made from solid sterling silver and coated with elaborate hard enamel, the collection follows traditional enameling techniques: applied in layers, refined through many firing and grinding cycles, and finally polished to a smooth, glass-like surface.
The Sankta Lucia is available as a fountain pen (F, M, B) or rollerball.
A writing instrument that celebrates light in the midst of darkness and honors the story of a woman who made courage, faith, and charity her life's path.
