Variant with the wrong signature, that of the son (production error)
The Montblanc Writers Edition Alexandre Dumas fountain pen is not only a tribute to the great French writer, but also one of the most interesting pieces of the Montblanc Writers Edition – thanks to a fascinating production history that makes it a true collector's item.
This fountain pen was originally produced by Montblanc with the signature of Alexandre Dumas' son, who was also a writer. This error was later discovered and corrected, but a limited number of the pens with the son's incorrect signature remained in circulation. This rare variant makes the fountain pen an interesting object for collectors and literature enthusiasts.
The design of the fountain pen reflects the adventurous spirit and dramatic stories of Alexandre Dumas, such as his world-famous novel The Three Musketeers . The barrel and cap are made of fine, dark brown resin and feature filigree gold decorations reminiscent of historical elements. The clip in the shape of a sword pommel rounds off the unique design and refers to Dumas' adventure literature.
Another reason for the popularity of this Writers Edition, limited to 20,000 pieces, is the size of the writing instrument, which is based on the Montblanc 149. With its generous dimensions, the nib fits perfectly in the hand and offers an incomparable writing experience. The hand-crafted 18-carat gold nib ensures smooth writing and makes the writing instrument a functional masterpiece.
