Take it to the Limit Collection
The Take it to the Limit folding knife translates the design of the writing instrument collection into a compact collector's item. The edition is limited to 100 pieces per color. The design incorporates key elements of classic automobiles and is aimed at enthusiasts who appreciate the allure of the combustion engine and the feeling of open roads.
The scales are made of solid sterling silver and are fully guilloché. The carbon fiber pattern forms the base beneath the multi-layered enamel coating. Racing stripes and the inlaid number 1 add distinctive accents. A gearshift lever appears in high relief, complemented by guilloché gauges for speed, RPM, temperature, oil, and fuel.
The enamel is created in a complex process from hand-ground paste. Each layer is applied with a nib and fired at over 1,000 degrees Celsius. Numerous firing and grinding cycles are necessary to completely fill the intricate structure. The result is a smooth, glass-like surface in which the guilloché work remains visible.
This manufacturing process demands precision, patience, and many years of experience. Each component undergoes multiple processing steps to cleanly highlight the contrast between metal, texture, and color.
The blade is made of Swedish Damasteel DS93X Damascus steel. Both sides of the silver thumb stud feature a diamond.
